Solution overview
The Transport payment management solution consists of two phases: enabling the use of transport systems and paying for completed trips.
During the initial phase, the contactless credit card receives a formal EMV validation check, as well as a cross-check with the Blacklist. Then, when the customer begins their trip, the credit card validation phase takes place, employing the credit limit established by the merchant. The activation takes place in near real-time and is therefore comparable – from the Gateway Transit standpoint – to an online management of the operation.
The actual payment of the trip takes place during a second phase, to ensure the application of the best rate based on the individual user’s travel habits, as well as potential membership programs.
